Audi is one of Germany’s
oldest-established automobile manufacturers. Since 1932 the
Audi emblem has been the ‘four rings’, which stand for its
amalgamation with DKW, Horch and Wanderer to form Auto Union
AG in Chemnitz, which then adopted this badge. It supplied the
widest range of passenger vehicles that German industry could
offer in the 1930s – from motorcycle to luxury saloon.
Exhilarating power.
Precise control.
True performance is
never the result of a single component. It’s the combination
of elements—engine design, drivetrain, suspension, gearing,
vehicle rigidity and weight—that elevates a ride to
greatness. At Audi, we understand this. That’s why so many
of our performance innovations come via the race track. FSI®
direct injection, the S tronic direct shift gearbox, the
all-aluminum Audi Space Frame®, and, of course, legendary
quattro® all-wheel drive—all play a role in delivering a
ride that is exhilarating in its dynamism and control.
Advancement through
technology
From the very beginning,
advanced technology has been at the very heart of the Audi
DNA. In practice, this means the relentless pursuit of new and
better solutions to the automotive challenges of an
ever-changing world. From quattro® all-wheel-drive to FSI®
direct fuel injection, Audi's Truth In Engineering means
safer, more efficient, and more brilliantly satisfying cars to
drive.
Audi TDI : Pure innovation
Today's new clean diesel variants have gained wide acceptance due to their unique characteristics including excellent performance, high fuel-efficiency, low-emissions output and low-maintenance.
Audi is a recognized leader in the design, development and sales of diesel engine vehicles. In Europe, where more than 50% of all vehicles sold each year are diesel powered, Audi clearly ranks as a leading brand.
TDI initiative on the North American market.
As early as next year, Audi will be putting the cleanest diesel engine in the world into series production vehicles in the USA. The 3.0 TDI with ultra-low emission system will initially be available for the Audi Q7, and later for the new Audi A4.

Our approach to driver convenience can best be summed up in three words: elegant, intuitive simplicity. Making the complex manageable, accessible, second nature. After all, your Audi is quite literally an extension of who you are. While driving, it becomes your primary interface to the world. And with progressive systems like our Multi Media Interface (MMI®), the DVD-based Audi Navigation System, optional satellite radio, and built-in Bluetooth® compatibility, we make certain you stay connected to the road, the ride, and everything else that matters most to you.
