ABOUT DR. TASNEEM NAKHODA
Dr. Tasneem
Nakhoda is a board certified dermatologist involved in
private practice in Karachi, Pakistan. She is a very senior
aesthetic dermatologist with over 20 years experience. She
has been trained in Pakistan as well as in the US. She is
renowned for her expertise in lasers, making her a leader in
the field of aesthetics dermatology.
A DOW graduate of 87, her initial interest in pediatrics led
her first to do MRCP. But she soon realized that her
interest in dermatology was deep rooted when she stepped in
the dermatology area to get some practical experience. From
there, she says there was no turning back as she had found
her true passion and soon did her MCPS in 1992. The same
year she passed the commission and joined Jinnah Post
Graduate Medical center where she trained MCPS students in
dermatology, read papers, gave her FCPS part 1 and left the
dept. to join Prof. Faiz in the plastic surgery dept. to
complete her thesis is skin cancer. Her interest in
pediatrics led her to join Dr Amy Paller, an authority and
the President of the Society of Pediatric Dermatology based
in Chicago. At the Northwestern University Dr. Nakhoda had
the chance to work with Dr. Montalvo, a senior cosmetic
dermatosurgeon.
On her return from the US in 1999, she started her
state-of-the-art aesthetic clinic by the name of Lasersoft
and was the first in Pakistan to get the long pulsed Nd YAG
laser for hair removal in 2001.
Over time she has added many top of the line, world class
lasers, phototherapy, and radio frequency devices in her
clinic. She has served as a consultant/speaker for many
laser and cosmoceutical companies and has published papers
in various journals.
