CHIODO COLLECTION

Gucci is pleased to introduce Chiodo, a new collection of striking timepieces, whose design is based on the iconic square head nail employed by Gucci since the 1960s. The nail motif has been used in both silver and gold as a decorative detail on the most coveted accessory items. This symbol, like the horsebit, has its origins in the equestrian world and is modeled on the pyramidal nails used to hold the shoe on the horse’s hoof. The Chiodo collection offers two elegant watch case shapes, square and round, that can be enriched by a luminescent mother-of-pearl dial with graceful flinking.

The square styles feature a sophisticated case and bracelet, which lend an unusual, jewel-like quality to their appearance. Gucci's sculptural new Signoria watch is a strikingly glamorous piece that is set to become a desirable fashion item. The bracelet's fluid curves are composed by multiple interconnected horsebit-shaped links that boldly juxtapose the square and graphic case. 
This innovative use of the horsebit marks a completely new take on the enduring Gucci signature.

Extraordinary craftsmanship and rich materials make the watch utterly luxurious. It's available in stainless steel or 18 karat gold, or with a feminine crocodile strap, while diamonds adorn its more precious renditions. The stones either add sparkle to two sides of the case or cover the entire bezel.

William Baume is the modern-day master of the Baume & Mercier brand. A watchmaker of outstanding talent, he was heir to a family saga that commenced in 1830 when his grandfather, Louis-Victor Baume, and a brother co-founded «Frères Baume», in les Bois in the Swiss Jura.

This watchmaking atelier gained worldwide recognition thanks to the excellence and innovativeness of its timepieces and was awarded numerous distinctions between 1885 and 1910.
