The MAD
School is a Music, Art and Dance institute as well as a performance
venue which was inaugurated in 2009 with the inspiration
to further Music Art & Dance education in Pakistan.
MAD School aspires to encourage growth and development within
Karachi's local artist community by providing arts education programs to
children and young adults while facilitating in-house
performances. The school is run by a team
of fervent artists and musicians who are dedicated to
helping students learn means of expression in fun and
interactive ways. The school aims to fine tune the students’
potential, elevating their passion to new heights.
The faculty include the famous and talented Nida Butt & Hamza Jafri.
WEEKLY
PERFORMANCES
MAD
School has a 100 person capacity performance and rehearsal hall
for events which are held weekly. Events include Open Mic Nights, Drum
Circles, Stand-Up Comedy, Antaakshari and concerts of
established and aspiring artists.
The school also has an onsite musical instruments and accessories
store to facilitate its students education and access to
quality materials.
Students are welcomed into an environment of interactive
learning where creative expression is encouraged.
MUSICIANS & INSTRUCTORS
Hamza
Jafri –Director MAD School - Guitarist, Singer and Composer.
Composer, guitarist & singer for rock band ‘co-VEN’; Hamza
has been playing, composing and performing music for over 20
years. He founded The Guitar School in Lahore in June 2009
and has since been designing and teaching music programs to
aspiring artists. In June 2010 He co-founded MAD School in
Karachi. Hamza’s most recent work includes the soundtrack
and score of the stage production ‘Karachi the Musical’.
AamirZaki– Guitar Teacher -Guitarist, Songwriter and
Composer.
AamirZaki–
Guitar Teacher -Guitarist, Songwriter and Composer.
He is known for his uniquely melodic phrasing, feel, and
tone. His debut album Signature was released in 1995, and
Zaki was awarded a gold disc by Soundcraft UK for it.
Signature was primarily an instrumental album with two
English and one Urdu song. His second CD release Rough Cut
was an English album, with a Tabla and six string bass
Rhythm section, featuring HadiqaKiyani on vocals.
Abdul Ghani–Dance Teacher - Actor, Dancer &
Choreographer.
Self-taught and talented, Abdul Ghani over the last six
years, he has choreographed dances for major events like the
MTV Awards, Lux Lifestyle Awards, Hum TV Awards, Veet Awards
and the Hum TV New Year show 2007 in Dubai. Ghani is also an
actor and a model. His recent choreography project is a
dance movie – Pakistan’s first-ever.
Jawwad
Qureshi –Singing Teacher –Vocalist, Musician & Composer.
A melodic voice and a talented young gun. He first
appeared at HUM TV’s program ‘Zauq-o-Shauq’ in the year
2008. Since then Jawwad has done different programs and
shows over digital media which include ‘Sur Zindagi Hai’ and
‘Golden Era of Indian Music’. Along with singing, Jawwad is
also good at playing multiple musical instruments which
include Piano, Guitar, Bamboo flute, Harmonica and violin.
Currently, he is associated with a music production company
“Auvid Productions” as music composer. Jawwad is also
conducting classes at MAD school as singing instructor..
Dwayne
Lucas– Kids Dance Teacher - Professional Dancer
Dwayne is a zestful and vibrant young fellow. He started
dancing at the age of 10 and since then he took it seriously
as a profession. His teenage was full of achievements as he
captained “Leader of EXD (a professional flash mob and
professional dancing team). He is also a token holder of
‘Red bull, BC One Pakistan workshop’. His inspirations are
Michael Jackson and B. Boy Lilou. Other than these
achievements, Dwayne has done number of musical theatres all
over Pakistan. He just loves to dance.
Osama Khan
–Creative Manager
An innovative and visionary graphic designer. Osama is
highly experienced and professional in the field of graphics
and designing. He has got many professional certifications
which include graphic designing, multimedia designing, 3D
designing, AutoCAD-architecture and photography. Osama also
have the experience of working with one of the top ‘digital
marketing’ company of Bahrain. Currently, he is associated
with the MAD school as ‘Creative Manager’.
Natasha
Humera Ejaz - Singing Teacher - Vocalist, Musician & Dance
Choreographer.
With a Certificate in Audio Production from the
International College of Music (Kuala Lumpur), Natasha
devoted her extra time at college acquiring vocal training
in a diverse range genres. In Kulala Lumpur, Natasha also
found employment as a Dance Choreographer and Vocal Teacher
at the Broadway Academy (Malaysia) (SDN BHD) and attended
two YES Academy Workshops in Pakistan and in Thailand. Since
her move back to Pakistan, Natasha has held a regular
teaching position teaching children, teenagers and young
adults at Kuch Khaas, Islamabad.
Waqas
Jinnah–Administrator.
Waqas is a competent and skillful individual. He is
fairly experienced in the field of marketing. The
organisations for which he worked include e-trip travels,
Vey mineral water and Telenor-Pakistan. Waqas has also got
sufficient experience of management side. He worked as
‘Supply chain executive’ at Patel Foods Industries.
Currently, Waqas is associated with MAD school as an
‘Administrator’
