Saffron Restaurant, located in
the newest upscale dining block of Karachi, offers fine
Mediterranean cuisine in a colorful and traditional setting.
The lowly-lit dining room, wooden floors and rich burgundy
accents create a cozy Spanish feel, with each table seating
area having its own unique character. Created and designed
with the inspiration of antiques, you'll find various unique
decor pieces, many dating back to hundreds of years, which
may also be purchased upon request. In addition, colorful
and artistic indoor and outdoor seating areas are available
for your dining enjoyment.
THE INSPIRATION
Saffron was created with
heart, mind, and soul and as an everlasting passion for
fine-dining, woodwork and antiques; all of which have come
together to create a unique atmosphere at Saffron. The
large open courtyard and indoor areas display a collection of antique furniture,
interesting pieces and black and white pictures of the old Karachi.
Stories
behind many of the pieces found at the restaurant put one in
a mindset of the decadence and simplicity of times past.
THE FOOD
Saffron offers a versatile
cuisine encompassing many recipes from from Mediterranean,
Greece and Italy, with a the promise of an authentic taste of the cultures which
inspire them. Saffron always uses the highest quality and
freshest
ingredients which include
Morel
Mushrooms,
fresh salmon smoked salmon from Dubai and fine asparagus. Amongst the most popular dishes on the menu are the
Lobster Thermidore, Grilled Tiger Prawns and the Crudité Platter,
Roasted Tomato Soup and which
includes Hummus, Moutabal, Mezza, Falafel, Dolmah (wine
leaves wrapped like cigars.
The desert menu makes it difficult to choose between the
famous Molten Chocolate Cake and the signature Warm Bread
Pudding with Ice Cream, amongst other luscious choices.
The Chef has extensive
culinary experience in fine cuisine from around the world.
He has worked in many middle eastern countries including Bahrain
and UAE,
gaining exposure and experience in elegant and exclusive
Seafood and Mediterranean recipes.
HYGIENE PRACTICES
At Saffron, hygiene and proper food handling
practices are of the utmost importance. Stringent cleaning
of all items and furnishings, monthly fumigation, and a
nightly thorough kitchen cleaning are a few of the practices
in place to ensure a pleasant experience in all aspects of
one's visit to Saffron.
